A journey into the known and the unknown. Is it real or just an imagination? How do we approach a different place and culture? What do we take out of a journey for us? And how do we communicate these personal experiences to someone, who has never been in that place?

I’ve asked two friends to describe their recent trip to me. Out of these memories I’ve made my personal collage of that place. As a material for this video I’ve used the recorded dialogue with the friends together with the photographs that they made on the journey.

It is a postcolonial approach in which we buy an ideal conception of a dream holiday in an exotic country. In the idealisation of the tourist trip we immerse in a simulated reality out of the everyday life.
